The LS30 Safety Lock is an essential component for any elevated platform which moves vertically.  The Safety Lock is used to stop, or arrest, any downward motion that exceeds a preset velocity or speed.  Excessive descent speed could be the result of hoist motor malfunction, or failure of the hoist ropes or cables.  If a hoist cable were to break, the platform would begin to fall.  When the speed of the falling platform meets, or exceeds, 22 meters per minute, (About 1 foot per second), the Safety Lock will arrest the platform’s descent.  Typically, the Safety Lock will trigger and arrest a free-falling load within 2 inches of its release height.
